Fine Art

John Waugh has a long history as a fine art photographer. Working in large format black and white photography since 1974, John has been exhibited in numerous galleries and competitions. His work is in many private and corporate collections. Dedicated to developing documentary series, John has created collections for the National Park Service in "The Caretakers" an extended look at the tireless civil servants that maintain Rocky Mountain National Park, "The Edges" an architectural record of the hot springs pool of Glenwood Springs, CO, and "Le Mans Series Racing with Liz Halliday", a season long reportage of a young woman's pursuit of a world racing driver's title.

John has an extensive collection of limited edition black and white prints ranging from Abstract Images from the real world to the American Southwest, Mexico and Central America. John Waugh began his serious pursuit of color photography in the beginning of the digital age of cameras. From its beginning in 1990 John has followed the improvements in the digital capture of images. The advent of the "digital darkroom", computer processing of digital photographs, so vastly improved the ability to fine tune color images that the craft of fine color photography became a reality and a passion.
